Care Guide

The Art of Silk Care

Your silk pieces are companions in your moments of rest. They are crafted with intention, and a little thoughtful care will ensure they have a long and beautiful life with you. This is not a chore, but a simple ritual to preserve the integrity and softness of a cherished piece.

The Gentle Cleanse

Hand Washing

This is the kindest way to care for silk and extend its life indefinitely.

  1. Prepare: Fill a clean basin with cool water (below 30°C / 86°F).
  2. Add Elixir: Stir in a few drops of a pH-neutral liquid silk detergent.
  3. Immerse & Swirl: Gently place your silk in the water and let it soak for a few minutes. Softly swirl the item, but do not rub or wring.
  4. Rinse: Rinse thoroughly with cool, fresh water.
  5. Press: Gently press the excess water out between your hands or by rolling it in a clean, dry towel.

The Gentle Cleanse

Machine Washing

Our silk is of a quality that allows for machine washing when done with care.

  1. Protect: Place your silk piece inside a mesh delicates bag to protect it from snags.
  2. Select Cycle: Choose a "delicate," "hand wash," or the gentlest cycle available on your machine.
  3. Set Temperature: Ensure the water temperature is set to cold, or at an absolute maximum of 30°C (86°F).

What we aim

Essentials of Care

The Right Elixir

Silk is a natural protein fiber. A gentle, pH-neutral liquid detergent is its kindest companion, preserving its softness and shine. Avoid any detergents that are too acidic or alkaline and never use bleach.

Cool Water Always

Warm water can cause the delicate silk fibers to harden and lose their luster. A cool, gentle wash is essential to protect the integrity of the fabric.

Drying in Peace

Sunlight can be harsh. To preserve the rich color and feel of your silk, allow your piece to air dry flat on a clean surface in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
